About Reptile Like Me

Reptile Like Me is an anagram for my own name.  When I needed a name for a company, it made sense to use the fake band name I’ve been hanging on to.  Lately,  I’m focusing all my creative energy into providing original music for anyone that can use it.  Mainly, Games and Independent Films.

The concept of Reptile Like Me developed out my anti-rockstar, anti-selfish, and general bad attitude about the old music bizz.  Something carried over from the Kilgore band experience.  Obviously, we love music.  For those of us lucky enough to make our own, we can get very caught up with our own egos. The very nature of being a musician can be very very self-centered.  In order for me to continue to create music (like I have a choice), I needed to develop something outside of myself.  So, I created what I like to call, a “pseudo-band”.    That’s a name I cowardly hide behind, while continuing to make new music.  When I had artist endorsements, no one wanted to hear you had a “solo” project going on.  Might as well post youtube clips of your poop, cause no one cares.  But, I created some mystery around the band Reptile Like Me.  A band so secretive, so exclusive, that no one knows who the members are and they never release any music!   In a time when  anyone can google an image of Britney’s cookie, it melts people’s brains to think, I want to hide our art.  Give people something to wonder about.  Add a little mystery to our lives.

The first concept was to only have live shows.  No recorded music.  But, technology is changing our brains and social skills.  I don’t even like going to live shows anymore.  So, I’ll most likely give in and release some music.  It will be free, of course.

I constantly contradict myself, so get used to it.

This site will be mostly about gear obsessions (the opposite of being creative) or the struggle of creativity itself.  We hope Guests will find something interesting here.  Happy exploring!
